Mike Starr

British-born, Berlin-based DJ Mike Starr has been moving dance floors for over two decades, delivering high-energy sets that honor electronic music’s roots while driving it forward. A regular fixture at Berlin institutions including Berghain/ Panorama Bar, Tresor, RSO, and Heideglühen, he is a trusted selector in some of the world’s most respected rooms.
In recent years, Mike has toured extensively across Asia, Mexico, the United States, and Europe, with appearances at Bassiani (Tbilisi), Signal and Elsewhere (New York), Pawnshop (Taiwan), Faust (Seoul), Tilllatec and Radio Radio (Amsterdam), The Cause (London), Pikes (Ibiza), Octopus (Manila), FVTVR (Paris), and Funk Club (Mexico City). His broadcasts and streams include The Mudd Show, HÖR Berlin, ARTE, Seoul Community Radio, with guest mixes on NTS Radio and Rinse FM.

Mike’s foundations were shaped in New York City’s mid-1990s nightlife, where he absorbed the pioneering sounds of house music at venues such as Body & Soul, Twilo, and The Sound Factory, influenced by artists including Frankie Knuckles, François K, Danny Krivit, Joe Claussell, Danny Tenaglia, and Junior Vasquez. By the mid-2000s, he had established himself in the UK with a four-year residency at The End in London, alongside Luke Howard (Horse Meat Disco), and held a semi-residency at Fabric’s DTPM Sundays, exploring an electro-leaning sound in Room 3.

After relocating to Berlin in late 2009, Mike became deeply embedded in the city’s electronic music ecosystem. His production breakthrough came with “Love Away” on Casual Lab, featuring a remix by Douglas Greed and later championed by Noir for Defected’s In the House series. His follow-up “Layback” EP became one of the label’s standout releases, earning support feedback and chart placements from Maya Jane Coles, Horse Meat Disco, Deetron, and Matthias Kaden.
Mike has delivered remixes for Ellen Allen’s BPitch Control, Lady Blackronika’s Sound Black Recordings, Hannah Holland’s Native City Records, and Berlin’s Raiders collective. In 2015, he toured Hawaii with the Isle 9 Collective as part of a showcase of Berlin’s underground downtempo scene, and in 2024 completed a solo five-city U.S. tour.

Festival appearances include Garbicz, Good2U, and Sunwaves Spain, debuting between 2022 and 2023 and returning in 2024 and 2025. In 2026, Mike is scheduled to appear at DGTL Amsterdam, underscoring his continued relevance on major international festival lineups.

In 2017, he released the acclaimed “Breakout” EP on Biotop, featuring a remix by Thomas Stieler. From 2018 to 2020, he hosted the Berlin party series INDUSTRIE and NITE LINE at Paloma Bar—launching with Ash Lauryn and Suze Ijo, and later focusing on forward-thinking electro with Noah Pred.

Currently, Mike Starr is a frequent regular DJ at Berghain/Panorama Bar, an occasional guest for GEGEN, and maintains close creative ties with Berlin’s Body Language and RAIDERS collectives, delivering hybrid house and techno sets rooted in history and built for modern dance floors.
