David Delgado

Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, David fell in love with music at a very young age and started DJing when he was only 17 years old. Determined to seek a professional career in the field of electronic music, David went to England to study Sound Engineering at the prestigious SAE Institute in London. Soon, David gained a foothold in London’s club scene, however after playing various gigs in Berlin, he realized that this was the right place for his music style and decided to move to Germany.

With regular appearances in many of Berlin’s legendary night clubs, from Club der Visionäre, which would eventually host the marathon nights of his party Meltdown, regular appearances at Sisyphos and Kater Blau, to spots at Tresor, Panorama Bar, and the late, beloved Bar25, David has confidently established himself in the upper level of the German capital’s underground firmament. His musical versatility and impeccable mixing skills, the flow of the classic and the new, allow him a canny adaptability, from a spacey early afternoon set at Club der Visionäre to the peak of Panorama Bar closing set.

Benefitting from his time as an assistant engineer in London’s top recording studios, where he worked alongside producers such as Chris Potter, Simon Duffy, Max Hayes and Adrian Hall, David’s dark and complex sound flaunts an elasticity which separates it from his contemporaries, emphasising expertly manipulated “jazzy” drum samples behind minor-key washes and ambient chatter.

What’s next? The future holds many promises for David. In particular the upcoming launch of Davids record label ‘WOX Records’ with its first releases featuring no one less than Argenis Brito, Ricardo Villalobos and BeleeJean. Additionally, David is continuously working on his music and developing his live-set.
